Saturday, September 20th - Oktoberfest!

Celebrate Minnesota brewing past and present as Mill City Museum and Mill City Farmers Market team up for Oktoberfest!


Beer Tasting:
10am-1pm
(while supplies last), Nothing says Oktoberfest better than a sip of locally-brewed beers.  Local breweries Finnegans, Flat Earth and Brau Beer will
be pouing samples of their beers.


Cooking Demo:
10am, Chef Ray Thering of the U of M and J.D. Fratzke give a nod to German traditions while incorporating local and seasonal foods!


Live Music:

10am – 2pm, Elk River German Band and the Bavarian Boys perform in the Market and Museum's historic ruin courtyard.

Entertainment:
10am - 2pm,
The Narren of New Ulm bring smiles to everyone as they dance their way through the market wearing colorful costumes and performing clever antics.

Beer Garden:
11am-2pm,
Shop 'til you drop at the market, just make sure you drop by the Beer Garden in the Ruins Courtyard and enjoy a refreshing brew or two!

German Soft Pretzel Demonstration:
Noon - 3pm, 
Stop by the Museum's baking lab - Solveig Tofte from the Turtle Bread Company and Tomas Zimmermann, the assistant head baker and native of Stuttgart, Germany, will show you how to make your own German soft pretzels at home.  (Museum admission required for pretzel demos.)

Book Signing:
Noon,
Stop by the Mill Commons and chat with Doug Hoverson and get your very own book signed!  History of Minnesota Brewing - Doug Hoverson, Author of Land of Amber Waters.  

Mill City Museum

For Kids: Splash in the museum’s water lab, explore the interactive exhibits and nose around in the Bake lab.

See the film, "Minneapolis in 19 Minutes Flat", a whirlwind tour of our fair city, written by and starring local humorist, playwright and radio personality Kevin Kling.  The show plays every 30 minutes and is included in museum admission.
